I wasn’t proud of my past, or what had happened with my father. At the age of six I didn’t really know what was right or wrong, but I did know that what my father did to me when my mother wasn’t around was wrong. Looking back at those years I feel like I should have known, but I was too young to even know.

Waitressing was my job that I had had since I turn sixteen. My first job and only job. Now at the age of twenty-one I was still waitressing. College had never been an interest for me no matter what anyone told me. I didn’t have many friends to tell me anyway. Just one. We were still friends til this day. Triss. I had been a shy and reclusive young girl and Triss had been quite the oposite. She has a boyfriend, and she’s living with him right now. I have my one room, one bathroom, apartment. It wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t too bad either. Moving out of my father’s house I had found that freedom was all I needed to prove to him that I could be whatever I wanted. Not some whore that her father forced himself on every night.

My mother had left us at the age of eight after she found out that he had been fucking the next door neighbor. She was married and it pretty much ruined everything. Her husband left her just like my mother left me. She hadn’t even know about me. My life hadn’t been something I was proud of, and sometimes I wished god would just end my life. Things did get better after my twentith birthday though. Triss was getting married, and I recieved a letter in the mail about a job offering. It was a strange one, and I had been thinking about it all day.

“Whatcha thinking about?” Danny asked as he leaned on the counter watching me with a worried face.

“Life.” I said turning back to the pop machine refilling a couple’s drinks.

“How is life going anyway?” Danny had been getting closer lately. I liked him too because he actually cared, and it wasn’t just pity.

“I got a job offer in the mail this mourning.” I walked over to the table and handed the couple their drinks. I glanced up at the clock. Five minutes before closing. Walking back to Danny I started to get anxious. I was going to see about the job after work since the letter demanded I come over as soon as I could as others could replace me fast.

“I’m going to see about the job today after work.” Sighing I started to fill the mustards up. Danny look over surprised.

“Really? Well, there’s not much left to do since we already did most of it earlier. You can go.” He said looking at the clock.

“Are you sure?” I bit my lip nervousness taking hold of me.

“Yeah. Go.” He pushed me gently and I grab my bag.

I clocked out in the back and looked once more toward Danny. He gave me a thumbs up, and gestured for me to go. I sighed and walked to my car. The job was at one of the huge skyscraper buildings. The letter told me to go all the way to the 38th and final floor. Then show the receptionist the letter. She would let me in. The drive to the tall building was about fifteen minutes, and as I came up to the building I started freaking out. There was no way someone would want me. I had no experience, and I hadn’t even gone to college.

After I parked the car I took several long breaths and walked inside to the receptionist. She looked busy and I almost didn’t know what to do. But her head snapped up when I came up to the counter, and she looked me over. After a few seconds of ackwardness I handed her the letter. Glancing at it she did a double take, and she looked at me again. She gave a small smile before pointing to the elevators.

“Just go all the way up. The 38th floor. He will be waiting for you. Just tell Bella I sent you. My name’s Sandra.” I shook her hand and then enter the elevator. The elevator was big, and was almost packed as I got in. I rode all the way to the top, and stepped out thankful that I could breathe again.

“You must be Rein.” I jumped in surprise and turned to see a blonde woman holding out her hand. Cautiously I took it, and she smiled. “Mr. Milakes is waiting for you. Follow me.”

With that she turned and started walking to a set of doors. They were completely glass and you could see they lead into a big office. She opened one of the doors, and I walked with her behind me. She walked up to a huge desk, and grabbed the chair with her hand.

“Mr. Milakes.”

“You may go now, thank you, Bella.” My breath caught at the sound of the voice and I was only half aware when Bella turned and left me alone with this man.

The chair behind the desk swiveled around and I was met with a pair of deep blue eyes. I realized I was staring, but when I blushed he only gave a little smile. It was perfect, and he had dimples. After a few minutes of me blushing he finally spoke. Letting me here that magical voice.

“Rein, isn’t it?” He looked down at some papers, and shifted in his seat.

“Yes.” I looked around his office and saw that the only decorations he had were pictures of his businesses.
