Starter 1: The Hotel Bar

The bar smelled like citrus polish and expensive mistakes.
She felt overdressed. Or maybe underprotected. Hard to tell.

He stood closer than necessary while ordering, his arm brushing hers like it was an accident worth repeating. She caught the reflection in the mirror behind the bottles. The way his eyes dipped. The slow, deliberate smile.

They talked about nothing first. Work. Travel. Boring things.
But every pause stretched. Every silence said more than the words.

She noticed his voice drop when he leaned in. Not whispering. Just close enough to feel it against her neck.

Upstairs, doors waited. Key cards. Crisp sheets.
And the shared understanding that whatever happened tonight wouldn’t follow them home.

That made it easier.
And somehow, more dangerous.

Starter 2: The Late Train

The carriage was nearly empty. Soft lights. Low hum.
Too quiet for the thoughts forming in her head.

He sat opposite at first. Polite distance. Respectable space.
Then the train lurched, and knees touched. Neither moved away.

They exchanged that look. The one that asks permission without words.
She crossed her legs slowly. Deliberately. Watched his mouth tighten.

Conversation turned personal faster than it should have.
Who they were when no one was watching. What they missed. What they wanted but never asked for.

Her pulse picked up when he shifted closer. Not touching yet.
Just close enough to feel heat. To imagine hands. Breath. Weight.

Her stop was coming. She knew it.
But part of her wondered what would happen if she stayed seated.
Just a little longer.

Starter 3: The Familiar Stranger

She’d seen him every morning for months. Same café. Same time.
Always polite. Always just out of reach.

Today was different.
He smiled like he’d been waiting for her.

They shared a table without discussing it. Knees almost touching beneath polished wood. Steam curled between them, thick with caffeine and unspoken interest.

He noticed everything. Her lipstick. The way she stirred too slowly. The faint mark at her throat she hadn’t bothered to cover.

When he spoke, it wasn’t flirtation. It was assumption.
As if he already knew how she liked to be touched.

Her phone buzzed. A reminder she ignored.
Responsibilities could wait.

She leaned in, voice low, and realised how easy it would be to leave together.
Two strangers.
No explanations.
Just intention.
