The Perfect Fit

It was a cold night in Los Angeles. I had just moved to the big city for a new career after living my whole life in a small town right outside of Utah. I had only been in LA for a few weeks and had barely finished unpacking. But I really needed a break from reality. The unpacking was stressing me out.

I’m only 25. I don’t get out that often. There wasn’t much to do where I came from so I figured this was my time to see what was out there. I decided to treat myself to a bar hop in Hollywood. That’s where dreams come true…so they say.

I knew that the city would have plenty to offer. With thousands of people from all over the world coming to LA, there has to be something to do and someone to meet. Perhaps, a night out at a club was the way to go.

I checked out some nearby clubs around the downtown area and by Hollywood. There were some good places to have a drink. Besides, it’s a Saturday night. I’m sure everyone wants to go party.

I drove myself down to a nearby nightclub. Once I walked inside the place, I could see that it was definitely not like anything I had ever seen before. So much glamour all around…the lights, the people, even the furniture. It was something I had always pictured in my mind, but never experienced. I went up to the bar and ordered a tequila sunrise. As I sipped my drink, I looked around the room. The flashing lights made the moment exciting even though I needed some alcohol in my system before I could be fully comfortable.

Once I finished my drink, I was in a good spot. So I ordered another.

I did some gazing around the room as the lights flashed all over. That’s when I saw her.

She was standing in the corner with a drink in her hand chatting with a friend. She was gorgeous. She had one of the loveliest smiles I had ever seen. Her piercing eyes and petite figure made me curious. There were hundreds of girls in the bar, but something about this one seemed like she was meant for me that night.

The girl looked my way and gave me a smirk. I smiled back and gave her a quick nod that I had noticed her. Normally, I wouldn’t think about making a move on a beautiful girl in a corner. But it’s Saturday night, I’m new to town, and I’m a little under the influence.
