The Ladies Circle – final part

Nicky got the chance to suggest Maria as a new addition to the Circle when she met Angela and Caroline at the gym the following week. Realising how much Maria had seemed to enjoy her company as much as Joe’s, she seemed an ideal candidate. She related the events of that evening to her two friends and Angela immediately agreed that Maria sounded ideal.

“Perhaps you can get her to join the gym?” Nicky thought this unlikely but promised she would raise it with Maria.

Thus it was that later that day Nicky phoned Maria and suggested they meet up for lunch. Maria happily agreed and looked forward to seeing Nicky again. The evening she had shared with her and her husband had been entertaining in more ways than one and she had appreciated the kindness that Nicky had shown her.

The girls met in a coffee bar in town and once they had eaten and were finishing their coffee Nicky told her about the Circle.

Maria listened with increasing fascination. Although she enjoyed the company of women generally and her brief encounter with Nicky had been fun, she hadn’t really given much consideration to that side of her sexuality. However the thought of spending fun time with these women sounded interesting. However…

“Do you think they’ll want me to join though?” Maria asked doubtfully. “I’m not exactly a babe am I?”

“God no don’t worry about that. I’ve told them all about you.” Nicky realized this might sound unkind. “I’ve told them you’re…cuddly.” She finished lamely. Maria grinned ruefully. That word again! Nicky took another slurp of coffee to hide her embarrassment.

“It’s alright I know what you mean. I’ve been called worse!” Maria felt guilty for embarrassing Nicky and quickly moved on.

“So what you do then? Is it just…sex?” She lowered her voice. Nicky nodded. She had enjoyed two more sessions with the girls since her first introduction and was becoming more and more relaxed in the company. The sessions always started with a glass of wine and then Angela led them upstairs.

She explained all this to Maria who nodded gamely.

“Okay then, ask them.”

“I already have asked them silly! They said yes. I’m going round next Tuesday afternoon. Do you want to come with?” Maria knew it would be easy enough to fake a doctor’s appointment that afternoon – her male boss always became flustered when women asked for time off for doctors’ appointments and he was easily persuaded.

And so it was that Nicky picked Maria up from the middle of town and drove her to Caroline’s house. She had received a phone call earlier in the day changing the venue as it was a hot afternoon and apparently Caroline had a swimming pool.
