Have you ever had one of those fantasies? You know, the ones that feel so real you begin to wonder if you are actually imagining them? Well, I do… because I have them all the time! Sometimes, they turn into a story, but mostly they remain trapped inside my brain. That is, until now…

Saturday, 5:30 PM: the coldest day of January—and by cold, I do not mean one of those cheesy American colds, but a “Freeze-your-balls-off!” Canadian cold.

I was snuggled on the couch, playing GTA Online with one of my friends when the power suddenly went out. I could not help but chuckle as I imagined my friend’s reaction. Unfortunately, I was unable to let her know what happened because my internet phone was also dead (so much for technology).

So I waited. And waited. And waited. Nothing! That night, my roommates and I played board games by candlelight (okay, maybe it was flashlights, but still…) to pass the time. At around 11:00 PM, one of them decided she could not sleep in a cold apartment and left to stay with a friend.
