Stangers in the Night

Strangers in the night.

I’m just your average women. My name is Judy, 29 year old young professional. Always hustling to make that next deal. I live in a big city. Always lots going on. Always something to do or see. But lately I haven’t been doing or seeing much. I just work all the time. I’m married to my work.

About a year ago I realized I needed a night out. Just some me time. I didn’t know what would happen. Or even what I would do. I just knew I needed a fun night. Let me till you, a fun night I had. Here’s everything that happened.

It was a Saturday morning. The alarm went off. Why did my alarm go off on a Saturday morning you ask? Because in my world Saturday is just like every other day. I work. I don’t know a day off.

I got up showered and got dressed. No time for breakfast, I was already late. I left my building grabbed a Starbucks and hailed a cab. During the cab ride I answered a few work emails. We pulled up to the building, I exited the cab and off to another 16 hour day of work.

As soon as I walked in I was bombarded with paper work. Getting to my desk and logging on to my computer was no help, waiting for me was 16 new emails. All of course time sensitive. My day was getting off to a great start.

As I went threw emails looked over paper work and downed about a gallon of coffee, half the date had already got away from me. Opting not to take a lunch because time is always money, I just kept on working. I really can’t remember the last time I had a full lunch hour.

The harder and harder I worked the more stressed and frustrated I became. It seemed like just as I finished a task three more piled up. But being a company women I kept working. Not to mention with a smile on my face the whole time. I looked up at the clock and it read 6pm. With my head down in paper the next time I looked at the clock it read 9pm. Holy shit, I worked for three hours without looking up. It was time to get out of the office. If I didn’t I would have had a nervous breakdown.

I left the building hailed a cab and was headed home. Of course on the ride home I answered some last minute emails. Just to tight up some loose ends. I got to my building, jumped in the elevator and could feel the warm embrace of my apartment. It was calling me.

I was almost at my floor when the doors opened and a man got on. He was very attractive. He was wearing a tux, perfectly groomed and not a hair on his head out of place. He sparked my interest. And why wouldn’t he, I hadn’t gotten laid in 2 years. It wasn’t because I couldn’t get men, it was because I didn’t have time for them. My husband was my job.

We reached my floor and I got off the elevator. I gave the gentleman a smile and headed to my door. The second I walked in I felt happy. I was home. I decided this was a work free night. I turned my phone off, shut my computer down and unplugged my landline. I was totally free of the office.

I kicked off my heels stripped to my bra and panties and grabbed a glass of mine.
