I walk down the footpath. The light on my phone was dim, showing me it just turned 2am as I walked home from the pub. I lived in a different direction to my friends, so each week, I would walk alone for half an hour, taking the same route at the same time.
I shivered as the cold air brushed across my soft pale skin; it was summer so I was only wearing a short white dress, which was illuminated by the streetlights. My fiery ginger hair travelled down my back, forming a soft layer to fight against the breeze while I wrapped my arms around my waist, trying to make myself warmer. I hated this walk, very few houses, no one every walking at this time, the vulnerability got to me each time.
I didn’t hear your footsteps behind me, your slow soft breath picking up as you got more excited by the thought of what you were going to do. I turned down the path I hated most, into the woods and darkness. You followed me and picked up your pace so that you were right behind me. I heard you so slowly looked behind me and threw my full eyelashes.
In that second I got a good look at you. Dark well kept hair, piercing green eyes, much taller than my small 5 foot 6, you being at least 6.
