I was on the quad at college and was speaking to some friends, when another student approached. His name is Jarvis, he’s close to six(6) feet tall and about one-eighty pounds(180lbs), average looking and working his way through college as a waiter at some restaurant.

As the group broke up I found myself walking away in the same direction as Jarvis. Jarvis asked ‘you’re in Grants Hall aren’t you?’ I answered ‘yea, where you lodged?’ To that Jarvis said with a smirk ‘I am in Haney’s Hall, you know the new dorm in the triangle.’

From the way Jarvis spoke I knew that I wasn’t going to like his company the rest of the walk. Jarvis continued to tell of how much more amenities that his dorm had compared to my dorm. Finally I said ‘some are more privileged than others, those of us that are lest fortunate has to do with what we have.’

Jarvis smiled and said ‘I’ll let you take a look inside, then you will see what I’m talking about.’ As we reached Haney’s Hall, Jarvis headed to the end of the building. Pulling out a pass card he swiped it and the door sprung open.

We climbed the stairs with me asking ‘don’t they have dorm monitors here?’ Jarvis answered ‘each time a card is swiped, the monitor knows who it is and how many entered. If more than two pass through the are met by campus security before they can get out of the building.’

‘Besides my room mate is home for the weekend and wont be back till Tuesday.’ We reached Jarvis dorm room and went in, I was startled to find that there was a sitting room, combination dining room and kitchen.
