When I awoke the next morning I looked around and noticed that the bedroom was completely dark, realizing that it was still dark out. I then rolled over and looked at the clock on the small night stand to the right of me, the time was 3:15am. I then reached down and grabbed the blanket at the foot of the bed then pulled it up over the both of us and laid back down. Anna moaned out softly in her sleep when the bed moved as I adjusted the blanket so that it laid over us evenly. I gently draped my right arm over her and kissed her cheek, comforting her and letting her know that it was okay and that I was still there with her. She then curled into me and laid her head on my chest with her hand resting on my abdomen just below my ribs. I leaned up a little and kissed the top of her head then laid back down again and gently ran my fingers through her hair. Anna sighed contently under my touch then fell back asleep as I held her in my arms, slowly drifting off once again.

Anna groaned and gripped the covers and pulled them over her head when her alarm went off at 5:30 for her to get up and get a shower before school. A soft smile broke across my face because her reaction was just to cute, not to smile. Anna suddenly gripped my arm then pulled me back down beside her when I went to get out of the bed. “Where do you think you’re going?” She purred then rolled over on top of me, pinning me beneath her.

“We have to get up, baby.” My cheeks flushed when our eyes met. Anna whined, ‘but I don’t want to go to school today.’ I couldn’t help to laugh, but only just a little. Anna tilted her head curiously as she lay there on top of me, ‘what’s so funny?’ I leaned forward and pecked her lips softly, ‘you’re just so cute when you whine.’ Her cheeks blushed a fair shade of crimson and a gentle smile slowly took form on my face. She was so adorable even when she didn’t try to be. My hand found its way to her cheek, caressing it gently as I gazed deep into those beautiful honey brown eyes. We lay there silently, simply gazing at one another, savoring the moment that we now shared. I heaved a sigh then dropped my hand back down to my side and whispered, ‘I gotta go, baby’, with a trace of hesitation in my tone as the soft instrumental version of Lullaby by Hypnogaja slowly filled the room.

Anna’s eyes slowly filled with a soft, yet teary look when I spoke those words. I reached up and placed my hand against her cheek, ‘please don’t cry, Anna.’

“But I don’t want you to go.”
“I don’t want to either….but I have to, sweetie.”
“Can’t you just take the day off?” I closed my eyes and heaved a sigh. I didn’t want to go but I knew that the questions would immediately start rise the moment that I got back the next day if I didn’t show up, especially from that nosey little secretary. She always did seem to watch my every move like a hawk watching its prey before capturing it. Anna dropped her head to my chest then gripped the tank top that I was wearing, just below my breasts and whispered, ‘will I see you again?’

“Of course you will, Anna.” My heart grew weary when I felt her body begin to tremble. I wrapped my arms around her, holding her in a gentle embrace then nuzzled my face into her hair, trying to comfort her a little in some way without using words. After about five minutes or so I heard the soft tone of the song, Lullaby, slowly fill the room once again. I glanced over towards the door at the pile of the clothes I had been wearing the night before with a harsh glare. Anna sighed softly then gently pulled free from my arms and sat up on the side of the bed with her back to me.

“I’m so sorry, Anna.”
She shook her head and whispered, ‘it’s okay…’
“No it’s not okay….I can see that you’re upset.” I whispered then sat up in the bed, watching her silently just mere moments before that familiar ring tone echoed through out and reaching my ears. I threw the covers off of me and got up then stormed over to the pile of clothes, ‘Dammit, why are they ringing my phone back to back like this?!’

I reached down and grabbed my cell phone from the pocket of my jeans and stood back up again then answered the call. It took all that I had within me to keep from lashing out and cursing like a sailor when I heard the voice on the other end of the line. It was the annoying little secretary from work calling to check up on me apparently, ‘but why the Fuck was she calling me this early in the morning?’ I thought to myself while cursing under my breath. I heaved a sigh and put on a front, masking the aggravation in my voice, ‘can you cover for me because something has come up and I’m going to be running late today?’

I clenched my fist when she began to question me for a reason, ‘just tell Mr. Richardson that its a personal matter that can’t be set aside, alright?’ I then hung up the phone without giving her a chance to argue. I sat my phone down on the corner of the dresser and took a deep breath then released it slowly in attempt to calm myself down. The soft sound of Anna’s footsteps filled my ears and I felt the warmth of her arms being wrapped around my waist as she rested her head against my back. It was as if all the aggravation within me was slowly melting away under the warmth of her gentle embrace. I gently rested my right hand against her arm and closed my eyes, sighing contently. Anna lifted her head and pressed a gentle kiss in between my shoulder blades. The sensation of the kiss made my body shiver and I couldn’t resist leaning into her gentle touch.

Anna chuckled softly and pressed her warm, naked body into mine, slowly awakening the hunger that she had brought to life the night before. I whimpered and bit down on my lip trying to hide the flame that was quickly rekindling within me from the sensation of her gentle touch.
