CHAPTER NINE

The rest of the evening went well, and we left close to twelve o’clock that night. We were home a little before one o’clock. I paid the babysitter and walked her home and then back. By the time I returned both Shelby and Samantha were already in bed. I took a shower and dressed then went to the living room to watch television for a bit, I was not tired. I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up when Samantha was shaking me.

“Jace, go to bed. It’s six in the morning.”, she urged.

“Oh shit, I fell asleep. That’s ok……. Let me make some coffee.”, I replied, jumping up.

I went to the kitchen and started a pot of coffee. I asked Samantha if she wanted some breakfast, but she said maybe later. I could tell she was feeling a little down probably due to seeing her husband the night before, especially with another woman. The rest of the next hour or so was almost the same. Both girls had drank enough to have little to no inhibitions. Sometime around ten o’clock we all got out and went inside locking up.
