My mind was racing. This would be the first time I could fuck Jane in my house.

“So, I guess we’ll be going to the bedroom now,” I said, trying to sound as romantic and deep-voiced as possible.

“Ehh…” Jane said, unsure.

“What? I don’t understand,” I said, hoping what I fear won’t happen.

“Well, our time was just the Hawaiian vacation. I just know that now that we’re back in New York, it won’t work out and will ruin our friendship.”

What I feared DID happen! Shit.

“But I’ve been in love with you for three years! If it wasn’t meant to be it would have died long ago! I don’t think that what you’re saying is true!” I said, trying to still fight it.

“I just don’t think it’s meant to be. Sorry Alex, I’ll see you later.” She picked up her bags from the vacation and walked out.

“Do you want a ride home?” I asked.

“No, I’ll just walk. The street lights are here to guide me,” she replied.

I started to fall, secluded in a deep depression. I thought that my uttermost dreams were going to come true, but I guess not.

I went deeper and deeper into this docile and volaitile depression until I heard my blackberry ring.

I picked it up and answered it.

“Hello?” I asked.

“It’s Jane, are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’ll just have to get past the fact that at least 90 percent of all my hopes and dreams were taken away this night.”

“Well, if you really thought we had something, well ehh… I’ll think about it,” she said.

“Okay,” I replied. “See you at the Wendys tomorrow night with Dan, Mark, Rob, and Gina.”
