“Go”, he ordered. She took off into the woods. Making a lot of noise as she crashed through the underbrush. “Remember you have five minutes before I come for you.” He yelled at her.

He stood there as the sun rays found its way through the thick tree canopy. He knows that she thinks she will be able to hide from him until nightfall and then be safe. He knew that she was mistaken.

Checking his watch and saw that her head start was over. Picking up his backpack, he headed into the woods hot on her trail. The trail she left was not hard to follow, but the head start may be an issue, but he knew these woods like the back of his hand. The path she was heading on narrows about a mile out and will force anybody in the valley it makes to head west. Knowing this he headed over land to where the valley would let out.

He moved quickly through trees and was able to make it to his ambush spot before him. The valley funneled to a rock cropping. In the small clearing he placed a section of rope. She would know that someone clearly placed it there. He climbed up on top of the rocks and waited.

Thirty minutes later he heard her just up ahead. Snapping every branch as she came. Her head turned wildly as she came into the clearing. Her clothes had rips and there was mud on them and her face.
